We are now accepting proposals from people who would like to present their latest big ideas, projects or startups at our cultural entrepreneurship SHOWCASE which takes place on Tuesday, March 22nd at the Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast, presented in association with CultureNorthernIreland.org and supported by DCAL.
The theme is cultural entrepreneurship and we’re keen to hear from entrepreneurs, potential entrepreneurs and project managers from the cultural industries that are trying out new business models and new revenue models.
Potential presenters might be experimenting with new revenue models in museums and art galleries, starting a new business in cultural tourism or crowdfunding their latest arts project.
Whatever it is you do, have a quick read of some of the guidelines below and then visit our contact page.
Presenting at SHOWCASE
The core of SHOWCASE are the demos and presentations from exciting startups, growing businesses and boundary pushing professionals.
If you would like to apply to demo at SHOWCASE – or know someone who should – here’s the gist of it:
- Your presentation should have a specific, tangible focus - a new product, project, business, or even something you’re planning, is ideal - think practice not theory.
- Your project can be up and running, about to launch, a work in progress or even just a big idea that you’re trying to make happen - the fresher the better
- Make it
goodgreatphenomenal. Stay away from dull Powerpoint presentations - get creative and make it exciting. - The more innovative the idea the better
- Client projects and commissions will also be considered but the presentations will be very public so make sure you clear it first
- Demos will run to about 10 minutes + questions
- Chances are we’ll want to film it
It’s worth pointing out that we don’t take everything – just the stuff we think brings something new to the table – but we invite anyone who’s interested in demoing to get in touch.
For those that do present it’s a great opportunity to get your new projects in front of a roomful of smart folk who can help you get the word out and provide feedback.
To apply, simply get in touch with some details about your project.
